The West End Frame back-story
In 2012 Andrew Tomlins accidentally started a theatre blog which went on to become the UK’s leading independent theatre website, West End Frame.
West End Frame became renowned for breaking theatre news and publishing in-depth interviews with theatre performers whilst The West End Frame Awards received over 100,000 votes each year. As well as reporting on the West End, coverage expanded to off-West End, UK tours, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Broadway.
West End Frame closed as a theatre website in 2016, throughout its final year the site was receiving over a million hits each month.
The Podcasting era

In 2019 it was time for a West End Frame revival! West End Frame made its comeback as the home of theatre podcasting.
The West End Frame Show launched in July 2019, with In The Frame launching three months later in October 2019. West End Frame is the biggest producer of theatre podcasts in the UK with a minimum of two episodes (sometimes three or four) dropping weekly. In 2025, both podcasts celebrated reaching 300 episodes, meaning West End Frame has produced over 600 podcast episodes to date.
